| The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of all the latest web technologies. Knowledge and commercial experience of HTML, Javascript, .NET, classic ASP, PHP, SQL Server, mySQL are absolute necessities, but understanding and experience of other client and server-based technologies are also valued (eg Java, Oracle etc). Experience of Content Management Systems, and understanding of delivering tiered systems is also required (separating design layer from business logic etc). The candidate will be fully acquainted with the concepts of writing fully encapsulated, scalable code. To give you some background: Ghost Web will be building web sites and applications using the same "component" strategy as Ghost Software - the first project will be delivering the Ghost Web Platform - the components needed to build consistently robust websites quickly and efficiently. Thereafter we will be delivering web sites, intra-/extranets, web applications, eCommerce enabled systems etc. to clients of all sizes in many different vertical markets - financial institutions, interior designers, local government etc. Experience with a range of server platforms is also necessary - both Microsoft IIS and Unix based Apache. Microsoft experience will be no problem to get, but the ideal candidate also has experience managing UNIX OSs (FreeBSD, Redhat etc) and Apache Web Server through a UNIX shell prompt. The candidate is also required to be a chief co-ordinator and motivator of the web team, so team leadership experience is also required. He will be my main contact with the web team, and will be in charge of understanding, managing and delivering all assigned projects. This aspect of his job is as essential as his web experience. | |
