Senior Project Engineer

| Successful candidate will be a key member of the Project Engineering Team providing single point contact within the Engineering organization for Construction related issues whose resolutions require engineering and construction coordination. Background in multi-discipline construction engineering with oil and gas facility construction experience required with thorough knowledge of related codes and regulations. Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) related experience is highly desirable. Communication skills are critical for understanding and communicating technical issues to all parties involved. Major job requirements are proactive identification, and innovative resolution of technical and schedule issues affecting construction of a grassroots LNG facility approximately 170 kilometers south port-harcourt along the coastline of Bonny Nigeria. Candidate responsibilities include ensuring company rules and procedures are in place and implemented. Candidate will report to Manager of Project Engineering. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Understanding of construction contracts and permit requirements to ensure timely compliance through proactive participation and conflict resolution. 2. Review and comment on Contractor’s project execution procedures for technical, environmental and social compliance. 3. Participate in construction contract clarification and negotiation meetings. 4. Participate in review and implementation of detailed engineering and specific equipment selections which impact construction progress. Provide input in constructability workshops and safety in design for construction. 5. Communicate issues clearly, concisely and expediently between construction, off-site engineering and other parts of the organization to resolve issues with minimal impact to project cost and schedule. 6. Ensure resolution of nonconformity items for minimal impact to construction cost and schedule. 7. Assist with negotiation and management of contractual arrangements, change orders, claims and disputes. 8. Participate in establishing survey methods and monitoring for progress and quantity measurements. 9. Monitor progress on as-built documentation provided by contractor. 10. Ensure company policies and procedures are applied and enforced. | |
